For those who don't know, my friends and I were one of the first websites back in the day to put videos online of ourselves doing skits and crazy shit. This was years before YouTube. Between late 1999 and early 2000 was the first batch of uploads.

Once YouTube came around, we put a lot of those same videos onto there. Eventually we had a few thousand subscribers and millions of views, with the Go-Ped Gangsters series being the most talked about.

In 2010, I made a song about Obama called "Skinny Poop" and released it on iTunes (and every other digital music service). It only had a chance to make a little over $3,000 before people started pirating it, and sales came to a stop. I pulled it from iTunes and released it for free on my site. Later I decided to put a copy of it on YouTube with lyrics, since I could only track downloads from my website. That's when things got weird.

On YouTube, the day it reached a million views (which was the first time any single video had) it was reported as "offensive" which it sort of is, because I made it to push buttons with a side of critical thinking but, whatever. I removed it for the bitches.

It didn't matter. YouTube removed my entire account a few days later. Even after removing the "offensive" content. I contacted them many times, but with no reply. All the videos, views, comments, even videos I didn't know I lost the originals of.. gone.

Since then I haven't really used YouTube. I noticed I'll post a video and within a few days the view count will actually go backwards, and stay a certain count no matter how many people watch it. I've been "shadow banned" I'm told.

Test it yourself. Watch one of my videos on YouTube, then watch the same one on Facebook. FB counts up, but YT won't.

So, beware posting critical thinking videos to YouTube that questions authority and mainstream beliefs, or someone will try to discourage you like a child.

If you're looking for info on the indie film we did entitled "Die Laughing (in Baltimore)" the only thing to know is that it was finished in 2011 but never officially released. I heard Tommy deleted it from his Vemeo account also because he was embarrassed at the cringe and "pretentious dialogue" he wrote back then just starting out. Maybe I'll do an edit of it.
